Equipment Calibration: Configure and modify the welding machine's voltage, shielding gas flow rates, and wire feed speed. Metal Preparation: To guarantee deep penetration and avoid contamination or porosity, clean, grind, and bevel workpieces before welding. Fit-up & Tacking: Apply "tack welds" to secure parts prior to the final welding pass, and use jigs, fixtures, and clamps to precisely align components. Quality Inspection: Visually examine completed welds to find flaws like overlap, undercut, or slag inclusions, and grind or reweld as necessary. Consumable Management: To keep the machine operating at its best, keep an eye on and swap out the gas nozzles, contact tips, and welding wire spools. Safety and Environment: Use the right PPE (welding helmet, leather gloves, apron) and make sure there is enough ventilation to control emissions to keep your workspace safe.
