Responsibilities:
Incoming, In-Process, and Receiving Inspection: Strictly examine raw materials, castings, forgings, and bought-out components in accordance with purchase order specifications and sampling plans.
Dimensional Metrology & Physical Testing: Use precise measuring tools to conduct first-off and step-by-step dimensional inspections.
Material and Mechanical Property Verification: Perform physical and material testing procedures, such as Surface Roughness Testing, Tensile/Yield Strength Verification, Hardness Testing (Rockwell/Brinell), and Basic Non-Destructive Testing.
Non-Conformance Isolation & Material Review Board: Track rework/scrap cycles, identify, tag, and quarantine non-conforming parts right away, issue internal Non-Conformance Reports, and support Material Review Board dispositions.
Gauge Calibration and Maintenance: Make sure that no uncalibrated tools are utilised on production lines, maintain master gauge registers, and perform routine calibration verification on shop-floor measuring equipment.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in reading intricate mechanical manufacturing designs, engineering schematics, bill of materials (BOM), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications.
Precision Metrology & Gauge Management: Proficiency in gauge selection, gauge handling, gauge calibration workflow management, and the use of manual, digital, and optical measuring instruments.
Strong knowledge of Acceptance sample Tables (AQL), sample processes, destructive testing techniques, and non-destructive examination principles.
Defect Identification & Material Quarantine: Strict application of red-tagging/quarantine protocols and prompt detection of optical, metallurgical, and dimensional defects (cracks, porosity, burrs, ovality, surface finish flaws).
