Job Description
Duties:
Database design is the process of creating and maintaining physical and logical database schemas, such as tables, views, relationships, and indexes.
Programming and scripting: Create and refine intricate stored procedures, functions, triggers, and SQL queries to manage database-level business logic.
Performance tuning involves locating database performance bottlenecks, optimizing sluggish queries, and lowering server load through the use of execution plans and indexing techniques.
ETL Procedures: Create and execute Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to transfer and combine data from several sources into a single database.
Data Integrity & Security: Control user rights and data encryption to preserve security; apply limitations and validation criteria to guarantee data accuracy.
Troubleshooting: To guarantee data availability around-the-clock, identify and fix database faults, deadlocks, and connectivity problems.
Focus Skills:
Proficiency with T-SQL (SQL Server), PL/SQL (Oracle), or PostgreSQL languages is considered SQL expertise.
Optimization Tools: Knowledge of SQL Profiler, SSMS, or other comparable database administration and monitoring tools.
Data modeling: a solid grasp of dimensional modeling and normalization.
Problem Solving: The capacity to effectively manage big datasets and visualize data flows.
