Job Description: Responsibilities: Multi-Axis CAM Development: Using programs like Mastercam or Delcam, create high-speed milling (HSM) toolpaths for VMCs with an emphasis on intricate surface, pocketing, and hole-making procedures. 3D Feature Extraction & Strategy: To identify the best machining approach, including stock model definition and roughing-to-finishing transitions, examine 3D step files and 2D engineering prints. Milling Tooling Specification: To prevent tool holder interference, use particular cutting geometries (such as end mills, face mills, ball noses, and indexable cutters) and specify precise extension lengths. Custom Fixture & Work-Holding Design: To guarantee maximum part rigidity under high torque and lateral cutting forces, design and model 3D milling fixtures, sub-plates, and tombstone layouts. Spindle & Feed Rate Optimization: To optimum material removal rates (MRR), compute dynamic cutting parameters depending on material hardness (HRC), coating kinds, and tool diameters.

Required Skills: VMC-Specific CAM Mastery: Expertise in using Mastercam, PowerMill, Siemens NX, or SolidCAM to generate toolpaths for vertical machining environments. Advanced GD&T Interpretation: Expertise in interpreting intricate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) criteria, such as flatness, parallelism, and true position. A thorough grasp of how various metals (such as aluminum, stainless steel, and alloy steel) respond to heat, chip load, and various coolant delivery techniques (such as flood versus through-spindle) is necessary for milling physics and metallurgy. G-Code & M-Code Proficiency: The capacity to manually audit and modify ISO milling code blocks at the machine panel, including variable adjustments and macro-programming.
