VMC Programmer Improved Process Control & Machining
Job Description:
Our precision machining division's "Structural Geometry Architect" and "Milling Efficiency Expert" is the VMC Programmer. Developing high-performance 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling processes for Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) to create intricately machined components from metallic blocks, plates, and castings is your main responsibility. As the "Subtractive Manufacturing Lead," you directly oversee the conversion of 3D CAD geometry into optimal toolpaths utilizing cutting-edge CAM software, giving surface finish integrity, dimensional stability, and reduced cycle times top priority. Critical milling hazards such cutter deflection, high-speed spindle vibration, deep-cavity chip evacuation, and fixture rigidity are managed by this position.
Key Duties
Multi-Axis CAM Development: Use programs like Mastercam or Delcam to create high-speed milling (HSM) toolpaths for VMCs, with a focus on intricate surface, pocketing, and hole-making procedures.
3D Feature Extraction & technique: Determine the best machining technique, including stock model definition and roughing-to-finishing transitions, by analyzing 2D engineering prints and 3D step files.
Milling Tooling Specification: To prevent tool holder interference, use particular cutting geometries (end mills, face mills, ball noses, and indexable cutters) and specify precise extension lengths.
Custom Fixture & Work-Holding Design: To guarantee optimal part rigidity under high torque and lateral cutting forces, design and model 3D milling fixtures, sub-plates, and tombstone layouts.
Spindle & Feed Rate Optimization: To optimum material removal rates (MRR), compute dynamic cutting parameters depending on coating kinds, tool diameters, and material hardness (HRC).
We invite you to apply and explore this exciting opportunity!
