Job Description: Responsibilities: 3D CAD Model Extraction & CAM Programming: Create extremely effective multi-axis vertical milling, drilling, pocketing, and contouring tool-paths by importing intricate 3D part geometries into Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software. Cutting Tool & Machining Strategy Definition: Depending on the raw material properties of the item, choose the best cutting tool inserts, end mills, face mills, and drills. To maximize tool life, choose exact spindle speeds and feed rates. Digital Collision Simulation: Before shop-floor deployment, do thorough machine-environment simulations within CAM software packages to confirm fixture boundaries, check tool clearances, and ensure there are no machine or spindle failures. Work-Holding & Fixture Design: To provide maximum tool accessibility during multi-sided machining runs, conceptualize and create unique machining fixtures, modular jaws, and jigs to hold raw parts firmly on the VMC bed.

Required Skills: Advanced CAM Software Mastery: Expert-level competence in using top industrial CAM systems for vertical milling applications, such as Mastercam, SolidCAM, NX CAM, PowerMill, or Esprit. Deep G-Code and Controller Fluency: A thorough comprehension of the G-code structure and manual programming modifications for the main VMC controller platforms (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, or Mitsubishi). Advanced Blueprint Reading & GD&T Expertise: Expertise in deciphering intricate engineering blueprints and using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) boundaries to produce precise machining fits at the micron level. Deep understanding of vertical milling parameters, chip load calculations, material machinability ratings (steels, aluminum, cast iron, exotics), and coolant application types are all part of Machining Theory & Metal Cutting Physics.
