Keeping Energy Running as Electrical Technician Job Description Duties: Electrical Breakdown and Troubleshooting Isolation: Trace wiring prints to identify short circuits, blown fuses, defective relays, or faulty automation components in order to react quickly to machine electrical failures on the factory floor. Power Distribution & Switchgear Maintenance: To avoid hot spots, periodically check the tightness of the main power panels, distribution boards, transformers, circuit breakers and capacitor panels. Motor & Drive Diagnostics: Assess the condition of insulation, set up variable frequency drives, test, install, and maintain single-phase and three-phase industrial motors, and modify soft starters. Industrial Automation Line Support: Help automation engineering teams troubleshoot limit switches, proximity sensors, photoelectric beams, solenoids, and programmable logic controller input/output setups. Predictive and Preventive Electrical Maintenance: Use non-contact infrared thermal pistols to detect overheated contacts before breakdowns occur as part of routine electrical preventive checklists.

Focus Skills: The ability to read and trace complex power wire blueprints, logic gate controls, terminal connection blocks, and single-line schematics is known as industrial blueprint and schematic literacy. Power Testing & Metrology Competency: Complete proficiency in the safe use of electrical testing equipment, such as insulating megohmmeters, digital multimeters, clamp-on amp meters, and earth resistance testers. Codes for Industrial Safety and Tagging Procedures: Strict lockout-tagout procedures, safe voltage isolation loops, grounding integrity, and national electrical installation rules are all clearly understood. Control Loop Component Diagnostics: Expertise in wiring and repairing industrial temperature controllers, emergency line-stop interlocks, and motor starters.
