In 1990, after earning her master’s degree in chemical engineering, she began working as a trainee engineer for her parent firm, which specializes in energy and environmental engineering. In order to revitalize a faltering subsidiary, she and her spouse moved to the UK after two years. After their successful comeback, her father passed away in 1996, and they had to return to India because of a family issue. In the late 1990s, she was elevated to the board of the company as her mother restructured it. From 1996 to 2004, the corporation was chaired by her mother.
