To confirm that the first-off and production pieces adhere to blueprint specifications, use precise tools including calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators. Keep an eye on tool wear and adjust the machine controller's "wear offsets" as needed to keep part accuracy within microns. Recognize and promptly notify the programming or maintenance staff of any tool breakage, strange noises, or machine problems. Check coolant levels, lubricate slides, and remove metal chips as part of your everyday "TPM" (Total Productive Maintenance) duties. To get the desired finish, carry out additional procedures like polishing surfaces or deburring sharp edges.
