Job Description: The main "Mechanical CAD Design Anchor, 3D Parametric Modelling Specialist, Design for Manufacturing (DFM/DFA) Engine & Engineering Documentation Guardian" for our manufacturing operations is the SolidWorks Design Engineer Product Design, CAD Modelling, Sheet Metal, Machine Design & Manufacturing Engineering Specialist. Your main task is to convert conceptual sketches, technical specifications, and functional requirements into fully constrained 3D parametric models, detailed 2D production drawings, intricate assemblies, and comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOMs), while plant directors and head R&D engineers set high-level product development roadmaps and production strategies. Serving as the "Guardian of Design Accuracy, Dimensional Precision, Manufacturing Feasibility, and Geometric Integrity," you assume direct responsibility for advancing mechanical design concepts from solid CAD modelling to shop-floor implementation.

Key Skills: Advanced knowledge in SolidWorks (Parts, Assemblies, Sheet Metal, Weldments, Surfacing, Simulation, and SolidWorks PDM/Vault) and Parametric CAD Proficiency. GD&T & Manufacturing Drafting Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of tolerance stack-up analysis, fits, manufacturing drawing standards, and ASME Y14.5/ISO GD&T concepts. DFM/DFA & Manufacturing Process Knowledge: A practical grasp of casting, injection moulding, CNC machining, metal fabrication, welding, and assembly line methods. Design Validation & FEA Simulation: The ability to use SolidWorks Simulation tools for linear static stress analysis, displacement checks, and safety factor evaluations.
