Practical Success as a Plant Maintenance Engineer Job Description The main "Machinery Reliability Anchor, Mechanical Maintenance Specialist, Fluid Power Engine & Shop-Floor Equipment Guardian" for our manufacturing plant operations is the Machine Maintenance Engineer Industrial Machinery Reliability, Mechanical Maintenance, Hydraulics/Pneumatics & Equipment Uptime Specialist. Your main responsibility is to maintain, troubleshoot, optimise, and repair all production machinery, mechanical drive systems, hydraulic power units, pneumatic circuits, CNC/VMC machine tools, gearboxes, pumps, and automated production lines, while plant directors and engineering heads set broad capital expenditure budgets, infrastructure upgrades, and overall facility strategies. As the "Guardian of Equipment Uptime, Mechanical Precision, Preventive Maintenance Compliance, and Continuous Machine Reliability," you assume direct responsibility for preventing mechanical failures and guaranteeing continuous production on the shop floor.

Responsibilities: Plant Machinery Maintenance & Mechanical Troubleshooting: To reduce emergency downtime, diagnose, disassemble, repair, and overhaul mechanical systems, including heavy presses, conveyors, gearboxes, drive shafts, bearings, and CNC/VMC machine tools. Maintenance for Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems: Examine, diagnose, and fix air compressors, pneumatic actuators, cylinders, accumulators, control valves, high-pressure hydraulic pumps, and pneumatic logic circuits. Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Execution: Carry out planned lubrication schedules, vibration analysis, oil condition monitoring, mechanical preventive maintenance (PM) procedures, and shaft alignment (dial indicator/laser alignment). Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) & Autonomous Maintenance Support: Establish visual management, machine maintenance checklists, and machine health standards to drive TPM pillars across shop floor teams. Strict mechanical safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, machine guarding compliance, pressure vessel safety, and hazard reduction should be enforced during all maintenance interventions.

Skills: Expert technical proficiency with industrial gearboxes, bearings, couplings, ball screws, linear guides, mechanical clutches, brakes and power transmission assemblies. Proficiency in Hydraulics and Pneumatics Engineering: In-depth practical knowledge of interpreting hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, detecting pressure losses, troubleshooting proportional and servo valves, and repairing hydraulic cylinders and pumps. Predictive maintenance and mechanical diagnostics: practical skills in dynamic balance, vibration data interpretation, thermography inspections, lubrication analysis, and precise shaft alignment. TPM Framework & Mechanical Safety Discipline: Strong knowledge of machine guarding rules, 5S shop floor procedures, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
